Open Access Policy

This is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the DOAJ definition of open access.

All issues of Barents Studies: Peoples, Economies and Politics can be loaded in pdf-format free of charge immediately after their initial publication. Each article can be loaded individually and also the full text of each issue is available for anyone interested in the journal. All issues of the journal are archived in Lauda which is the University of Lapland's institutional repository. The journal has its own website (www.barentsinfo.org/barentsstudies) which acts as an easily accessible user interface to the journal.
